How to Prepare for NISM Certification Exams
A practical NISM exam preparation plan covering syllabus reading, concept revision, mock tests, timing, and final-week strategy.
Start with the official workbook
NISM exams are concept-driven and closely linked to the official study material. Begin by reading the workbook chapter by chapter. Make short notes for definitions, formulas, regulations, participant roles, and process flows.
Break the syllabus into small targets
Divide the syllabus into daily study blocks. Cover products and market structure on one day, regulations and compliance on another, then numerical questions and case-based examples.
Practise with timed mock tests
Mock tests help you adjust to question style and time pressure. After each attempt, review every incorrect answer and mark topics where you guessed.
Revise formulas, limits, and regulations
Keep a one-page revision sheet for formulas, penalty rules, investment limits, risk disclosures, and important regulatory provisions.
Final preparation checklist
In the last two days, attempt one full mock test, revise your error log, sleep well, and avoid starting new chapters.
